Helsinki-Malmi Airport is an active hub of aviation business and general aviation. About 300 people work at the airport, and the combined turnover of the companies is about 20 million euro. Thousands of active aviators fly at the airport, of these around 700 are hobbyists. The major part of the activity is commercial pilot training of private and professional pilots. Five commercial flight schools and several aviation clubs operate at the airport.
